Characters

The main protagonists are the Valkyries- warriors from the land of Valhalla who are destined to be in constant battle with the ruler of Hel, Samael. There are seven of them, who in addition to fighting off Samael, must protect their princess. Not all names have been decided.

Title: Valkyrie of the Green
Element: Nature
Weapon: Staff
Trivia: Green is the color of nature, symbolizing growth, harmony, and fertility. It has a healing power and is the most restful on the eyes. The olive green that makes up this character's uniform symbolizes peace.

Name: Hela
Title: Valkyrie of the Violet
Element: Darkness
Weapon: Whip
Trivia: Hela is the deity of Hel in Norse mythology. The color violet is very mysterious and refined. Being a fallen Valkyrie from Hel, not much is known about this character except for her birth place.


Name: Skadi
Title: Valkyrie of the White
Element: Ice
Weapon: Spear
Trivia: Skadi is the "snowshoe goddess" in Norse mythology. White is the color of perfection.

Weapon: Broadsword
Trivia: Red is the color associated with war, power, energy, and passion. It is also used to indicate courage. Dark red especially represents these traits, which is suiting for the armor adorning this valkyrie as she is the leader of sparring missions and serves as the group's tactician.

Name: Unda
Title: Valkyrie of the Blue
Element: Water
Weapon: Tarot Cards
Trivia: Unda is Latin for "wave". Blue is the color of the sea and symbolizes wisdom, confidence, faith, and truth. It produces a calming effect. Unda recovers the knowledge of her past lives the quickest of the valkyries, and her tarot cards allow her to see into the future. These traits allow her and the Valkyrie of the Red to work well together.

Name: Audra
Title: Valkyrie of the Purple
Element: Lightning
Weapon: Chakrams

Trivia: Audra means "storm" in Lithuanian. Purple symbolizes power and ambition. The dark purple of Audra's armor can cause frustration, which fits her short temper.

Name: Lorne
Title: Valkyrie of the Grey
Element: Metal
Weapon: Bladed Shield
Trivia: Grey is a cool color that rarely invokes emotion and is a color seen in storms and metals.

Name: Lucia
Title: Princess of the Valkyries/Valkyrie of the Gold
Element: Light
Weapon: Rapier
Trivia: Lucia is named after the martyr St. Lucia, whose eyes had been removed from their sockets as punishment- it is also a term for "light". The color gold symbolizes heaven and royalty, where the princess resides.

The following are some of the novel's antagonists.

Name: Samael
Position: Ruler of Hel
Trivia: Samael in the Bible is known as the Seducer. Backstory: Before the novel takes place, Samael slips into Hela through Hel and seduces Lilith, the queen who resides there, taking her as his wife. He then severs the link between Valhalla and Hel, and brings the Valkyries of the Martyr under his control. Following the war that breaks out, Samael is sealed inside of Lucia's heart, freeing Lilith of his control.

Name: Lilith
Position: (Former) Ruler of Hel- leader of the Valkyries of the Martyr
Trivia: Lilith is a Mesopotamian storm demon. Backstory: Lilith is the queen of Hel and the leader of the Valkyries of the Martyr, being the Valkyrie of the Pestilence. She is unknowingly seduced by Samael and relinquishes control of her army to him. After the first war, Lilith regains control of Hel and uses the skin of her arms to form Cerberus, the guard dog.

Guuh. Usually I love Thanksgiving, since conversation with all members of my family are rare, and my aunts tell some great stories. However, this one I didn't really care for.

My mom and dad (who just came up from Florida December of last year) have been fighting nonstop lately about my family. He can't stand them for some reason, and badmouths them every chance he can get (it seems), and goes on about how THEY talk shit about his brother and blahblahblahblah.

For school. 'cause we're going to be reading The Crucible. And I have to get up and be in the auditorium by 7:30. BUT I'M GOING TO SALEM.

Also, I finished Of Mice and Men today. Hard to sum up my feelings about it- "an interesting read, but in the end, nothing important happens" would probably work, though.

Okay, so in Crisis Core, Zack can add characters to his "DMW" (his limit break) at certain points. So I started thinking...If I had a DMW, who would it consist of? I put names and effects but...I'll leave animations up to your imaginations. ...Also, ignore that strange mish-mash of code I can't figure out how to remove.
